FAQ

What does the qualification cover?

Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering covers subjects like Analogue & Digital Electronics, Communication Systems, Signal Processing, Networking Systems and Instrumentation. Students will work and engage in projects which have real-life use cases that will provide them with a deeper and more clear understanding of the subjects. They will work in well-equipped laboratories and classrooms to further better their experience.

In India, an entry-level E&TC Engineer gets paid around ₹3.5 to ₹6 lakhs per annum. This can vary depending on the job they land, the company they work for and where they live. The more experience one has, the higher their pay. Once they gain expertise & specialisations in a particular field they can expect a significant increment in their salaries.

Some key technical skills that matter here are being good at designing & analysing electronic circuits, grasping how communication systems work, knowing your way around signal processing, working with embedded systems, plus understanding networking & telecommunications technologies.

To get into a B.Tech in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering program, students need to have completed 12th grade with solid maths and science knowledge. Also, a student has to pass an entrance exam like JEE Main, MHT-CET or any similar test.

After completing the degree you can expect job roles like Electronics Design Engineer, Telecommunication Engineer, Network Engineer, Embedded Systems Developer & Rf(Electronics) Engineer. These jobs can be found in many fields, from telecommunications to electronics manufacturing.

Students will go through written tests, hands-on assignments, projects & presentations. Plus, the lab work & coursework during the year carry quite a bit of weight for the final grade. This setup helps track progress over time.

Any certification that proves more tech-centric skills will set students apart. Some of the certifications that give a more practical understanding and experience are:- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Electronics Technician (CET), CompTIA Network+, Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA), and VLSI Design Certification. Apart from these, there are many online and offline certifications available for fresh graduates and experienced professionals which can help them build a much stronger profile such as:- IEEE Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA), Python Programming for Engineers, Data Science and Machine Learning with Python, MATLAB and Simulink Training, Embedded Systems Certification (CDAC) and Cloud Computing Specialisation.

Skills that usually lead to better pay often include expertise in RF engineering, VLSI design proficiency, experience with communication protocols, solid know-how of embedded systems, plus advanced abilities in network design & management.
